J & G Deli, aptly named for the husband and wife duo Joe and Gina have been providing delicious Italian food in a traditional family style gourmet deli for over 15 years.
Joe mainly runs the store and deals with the customers while his wife Gina prepares most of the savory cuisine from old family recipes. Start your morning here with a dark roasted coffee, cappuccino or if you’re feeling a bit lethargic go for the authentic Italian espresso. On a hot day their Iced coffee is the best!
You can stop back for lunch, grab a table outside and enjoy one of their deli sandwiches made with only the best quality cuts of meats and cheeses. You’re sure to meet the locals and hear some talk about what’s going on in the town.
If it’s too hot to cook or you just don’t have the time, you can enjoy a home cooked hot Italian meal for two or twenty. Gina prepares everything fresh from scratch with the finest imported ingredients. There are usually two pasta dishes and three meat dishes daily with entrees like Sausage and Peppers, Chicken Parmesan or Stuffed Pork Loin. The specialty is the Penne alla Vodka.
J&D deli also has everyday staples like Croton Farms Milk and fresh Arthur Avenue Bread. For your convenience, J & G Deli is located at 23 Beekman Avenue and is open Monday –Saturday from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. For more information about their catering call 332-5321.

Thanks Jenn and Bill for clarifying. I didn't realize this had been started last year. I think it's a great idea and hope it continues. Now I want to see who wins the big giveaway today!

When visiting Italy, one cannot miss picking one of these family-run restaurants to dine and to enjoy their food. Many times, the smallness of the restaurants reflects positively on the good food and the restaurant atmosphere. The owners strive to make their diners' stay an enjoyable experience which they will speak about to their family and friends when their vacation is over. Likewise, wherever in the world Italian families open up a restaurant, it generally enjoys an exceptional reputation for quality service with a smile.
