Weather update: There is a chance of rain, but we are hopeful that we are OK for the event. If we have to cancel because of weather, you can bring your child's poster to Warner Library, where they will display it in the children's room.
We will post a notice on this website by 9:00 a.m. if we have to cancel because of rain.
Correction on time: Our flyer incorrectly noted the time as 12-3, the event is officially from 1-3, but we will be there at 12. You are welcome to come if you would like to start planting earlier, and do not mind working while we are setting up the art show.
Celebrate Earth Day in Sleepy Hollow with the SHDRC and the Village of Sleepy Hollow at Morse School Playground. We plan to plant in the two large flower beds by the Teaching Garden, and plant seasonal flowers in the planters on Beekman Avenue. We will have snacks and entertainment that day for volunteers. All activities will be suitable for children and adults.
In addition to planting, we will hold our third annual Earth Day Art Show. Kids living in or attending school in Sleepy Hollow or Tarrytown can enter art work to show off their creative talents and how Sleepy Hollow recycles. All entries must feature something that has been recycled. We will only take entries in two categories, for kids in Kindergarten through 2nd, and third through 5th grade.
You can download and entry form and flyer for the event below. This event is weather permitting. If it looks like rain, please check this website at 9:00 a.m. the morning before the event.
We hope to see you there!
